Joel is a violinist/composer, graduated with First Class Honours in Music from the University of Surrey. He is classically trained, but now focusses on a dynamic range of musical styles on violin from Folk to Hip Hop, giving him a real ability to be creative with the violin.
Joel performs regularly, both as a classical and electric violinist. He has on request, performed at concerts and events around the globe and has featured in viral videos totalling over three million views.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:
An appearance showcasing his live looping set on BBC1's 'The One Show'.
A performance supporting Coldplay at the Friends Arena with Birdy to a capacity audience of around 65,000 people.
A solo performance in support of Omid Djalili in front of over 3,500 people at the Hammersmith Apollo, London.
Speaker and Performer at TEDx Square Mile, London.
Booked for a variety of private and corporate events, including performances at Abbey Road Studios and Luttrellstown Castle for Google, a private performance for the Bath rugby team, as well as events for clients such as Lexus and Bank of America.
A variety of session work, writing and playing solo violin parts on anything from the debut Album by 'The Voice' winner Andrea Begley, to BBC documentary 'The Great British Year'.
Two-time UK finalist of the BOSS World Loop Station Championship (using violin and loop pedal), playing alongside such artists as Shlomo and Elijah MC.
Invited to perform at the Y2K International Looping Festival (World’s largest live looping festival).
He has performed as a soloist with the Wiltshire Youth orchestra and the University of Surrey Orchestra, and lead the University of Surrey Chamber Orchestra and Wiltshire Youth Orchestra. He was also a member of the National School’s Symphony Orchestra (NSSO) 2007-2010.
Joint winner of the Pennington's Competition for Solo performance at University of Surrey.
On-screen appearance in string quartet in Les Miserables (Film) 2012.
