Perfect Ceremony Music

Joel was fantastic from start to finish, he was very professional and he did an arrangement on request for our exit.
I would highly recommend Joel to anyone for any event but for our Wedding he was perfect. It was a dream for me, as I had followed Joel on YouTube and Spotify and imagined him playing on my Wedding day and it was everything I dreamed of. What an amazing addition to our Wedding day Joel was.
From the moment we booked him we have been listening to his music so were very excited to have him with us, and on the day he certainly didn’t disappoint - one of the hi-lights of our day. Joel’s musicianship was just superb and what a lovely gentleman he is. We would recommend him 100% and have already done so to guests who attended our special day.

When we were planning our Wedding, we were looking for a violinist to play and luckily we came across Joel. We were mesmerised how he built the tune by looping and the quality of his playing was outstanding. We were so pleased when he agreed to play at the Wedding and we were not disappointed. He played during the Wedding breakfast and noticed quite a few of the guests just watching him play. He provided the perfect backdrop to the meal and we will be forever grateful.

Joel Grainger was absolutely fantastic at our Wedding. He performed a beautiful violin rendition of “Clocks” as our aisle song, which created such an emotional and memorable atmosphere. Throughout the canapés, he played a selection of modern songs that were perfectly chosen and brilliantly performed, adding a stylish and relaxed vibe for our guests.

From day 1 Joel was responsive and accomodating. We requested a song to be composed for my walk down the aisle, i already loved his music, but hearing the song for the first time as i started walking gave me goosebumps! Best addition to our day.

Joel was genuinely the jewel in the crown of our Wedding day.
I honestly cannot put into words how incredible he is, both as a musician and as an all round lovely person. From the moment we booked him, he was an absolute dream to work with and brought so much warmth, professionalism and talent to the entire experience. We asked him if he would be willing to learn a special song for us (Video Games by Lana Del Rey) and the way he performed it was honestly magical. It became one of those unforgettable moments in the day that people will talk about forever. Hearing it played live as part of our Wedding was emotional, cinematic and completely perfect. Joel played throughout our ceremony and drinks reception, and he completely transformed the atmosphere of the day. His music created the most beautiful backdrop to everything and elevated the entire vibe from start to finish. There was this constant feeling of warmth, elegance and emotion throughout the day because of him. So many of our guests commented on how amazing he was, and several asked for his details afterwards which says it all really. An unbelievably talented musician, a genuinely lovely person, and worth every single penny. We feel so lucky to have had him as part of our Wedding day.

I contacted Joel very late in the day as I had arranged a Christmas Wedding at short notice. He was amazing and really helpful and flexible. As for his performance I can’t really find the words to explain how amazing and talented he is. His presence and music made my day and my guests were blown away and so complimentary. My only regret is that he had to stop playing and leave at some point ! A super chill, great guy that is just the most talented violinist and performer !!!! I need to plan another event of some kind just to have an excuse to book him again - Wedding re-do next year was my suggestion to the hubby

I have been a fan of Joel’s musical performances, compositions and arrangements for around 15 years. When it came to planning our Wedding, there was absolutely no question of who we needed to perform. I couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle to his beautiful original composition. Joel set the tone for the entire day, from the intimate lake-side ceremony set, to the upbeat pop covers at our sunny courtyard reception, he was phenomenal. Joel helped to plan the song selections to match the flow of the day and he was prompt, professional and respectful. Guests still ask who the ‘amazing violinist was’ and although I would love to keep it as our secret, Joel deserves the recognition for his outstanding talent, creative flair and attention to detail. We first discovered Joel on Spotify, and after checking out his tracks (and videos), we knew he was perfect for our Wedding.
Joel was absolutely brilliant on the day, playing for our ceremony and drinks reception. He even arranged a special track for my entrance which was so beautiful! So many of our guests told us how much they loved his music and we really couldn't be happier with his amazing contribution to our day! Thank you so much again

We found Joel through a sponsored post he had shared and remember saying to each other “wow this is absolutely incredible, could you imagine if we had him play on our Wedding day”. Of course we made contact with Joel shortly after to enquire and we were so happy to have been able to book Joel to play on our special day.
The music shared on our Wedding day was an honour to listen to. A highlight for us was sitting at the table signing the marriage certificate and commenting on how beautiful Joel’s music was in that moment. From the moment we saw clips of Joel playing Violin, we knew we wanted him for our big day. Joel was so lovely and made the effort to come all the way from York to our Wedding in Bicester! The music really added to our special day and everything about it was so beautiful. Thank you Joel!!!

WOW, such a talent!!

I have to say Joel was the vendor I was most excited about when I booked him for my Wedding in May and he didn't disappoint. We have had multiple guests mention to us how amazing and talented he was, and how much they enjoyed listening to him play during the drinks reception. I don't think I will ever forget hearing the sound of him playing just before walking down the aisle, it is a special moment that will replay in my head for a very long time.
As others have said, the only regret I have is that I didn't have much time to listen to him myself on my Wedding day (due to being taken for photos etc), I wish I could have been a guest at my own Wedding. Exceptional Violinist

Joel was a dream to have on our day, he arrived and provided no fuss, he was clear and precise before the day, didn't need constant checking in on and was always quick to reply before the day, he performed incredibly on the day just like all his demos online. A number of guests mentioned that watching him perform was one of the highlights of the day and i feel incredibly lucky that we were able to book him for ours.

Honestly, I don't know where to start with thanking Joel. Originally when looking for musicians, we stumbled across Joel on Hitched and thought, is he too far away? Is he out of our budget? I am SO glad that I looked through those minor details as honestly, he is just incredible at what he does. As soon as I listened to Joel's music I knew he was perfect for our day. Along with the other glowing reviews that solidified it! My one wish was that I was a guest at our own Wedding to enjoy Joel in all the glory. We booked Joel for our Wedding at Aswarby Rectory on 3rd August and were so, so thrilled that we did!! He is absolutely sensational to watch live and all our guests loved his performance, he is so technically skilled and super professional! With emails and contact throughout Joel was wonderful to work with and gives the option of learning pieces if you have a specific song in mind, he collaborated with me picking the parts of the song I wanted and as soon as I heard him on the day I started crying. Wow, Joel literally was the cherry on top of our perfect day! His talent and passion was unmatched. Perfect Wedding music

Joel was incredible at our Wedding! In the run up to the Wedding Joel was very helpful and was happy to talk at anytime. On the day his music was amazing. All of our guests commented on Joel and were blown away by the music he played. He played a mix of his own songs and known songs and knew when to play the correct song. We couldn’t have asked for a better musician for our day.

Fantastic performer and all-round lovely guy

Joel was the first supplier we booked - we absolutely wanted to make sure he was available for our Wedding! We loved listening to his music on YouTube in the lead up, and at every stage he responded quickly and helpfully. He was interested to hear about what we wanted and also gave his advice and recommendations when we asked for it. On the day, hubby and I found ourselves with a few minutes spare right at the end of the Wedding reception when guests had already gone in to the other room for speeches and dinner, and Joel kindly agreed to play our ceremony exit song again just for the two of us. We’d been elsewhere having photos done and so to have him all to ourselves for a few minutes was one of the loveliest moments of the day! Joel is so talented and so many guests commented on how brilliant his playing was. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough. Thank you Joel for adding to the magic of the day.

Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Joel but when walking down the aisle to my husband to be he was playing the song we requested which wasn't actually on his set list. It sounded amazing and everyone was saying after our Wedding how unusual he was and it made a change to generic Wedding music. Everyone loved him and I would high recommend!

Joel was fantastic at our Wedding in August. Almost every guest commented on how good he was throughout the day! Joel was responsive and polite in emails prior to the event and played during the ceremony and the afternoon. Simply brilliant

We had looked through a number of different people to perform at our Wedding but nothing really stood out until we heard Joel. From the moment we contacted him to the moment he left our venue he was nothing short of fantastic. Every single person did or wish they had taken a minute out of their day to just listen! Unreal!

Joel was our violinist at our Wedding! He was AMAZING. We would 100% recommend to other couples or families who are looking for a contemporary violinist for a Wedding / event. He has a really good setlist available of different covers. Lovely guy too and very different to other traditional violinists. Joel has a contemporary twist which we just loved!

Sensational Wedding Performer!

It was an honour to have Joel play his wonderful music at our Wedding at High Force Hotel on Saturday 3rd June 2023. Joel was fantastic from day one, always highly responsive to our many emails and offering a very personalised service, helping us to choose our music for the entrance into the ceremony room, signing of the register, exit of the guests, and general background music to relax to. I saw Joel playing in Cambridge about 7 years ago and instantly knew I wanted him to play at my Wedding! It was definitely worth the wait. Amazing Wedding day

Joel was absolutely amazing on my Wedding day he created such a wonderful, magical atmosphere. So many of my guests including the registrar said how stunning his performances were. I really wanted some form of live music at my Wedding and so glad I booked Joel.

Joel...What can we say!?
We came across Joel on Oxford high street 5 years ago and were taken by his incredible music. When we started to plan our Wedding, one of the first things we wanted to do was contact Joel to see if he would be able to be apart of our day. Joel travelled from York to Kent to play for us on the afternoon of our Wedding. He created a beautiful atmosphere that touched many of our friends and Family. His music took them away, so much so, my Great uncle of 93 years old started to Jive after not having done so for many years. If you wish to have a unique experience on your Wedding day, Joel is a must. We can not Thankyou enough for what you bought to our special day Joel. Joel was fantastic!

We really loved having Joel play at our Wedding, the guests were in awe! We found Joel through a Wedding website and booked him a year in advance. He was very accommodating and listened to our varied requests including creating a new track based on the how to train your dragon theme for our silent vows. The sun was out and he created the perfect vibe while our guests were drinking gin and Folly Farm. Would definitely recommend!

Exactly what we wanted. Friendly, talented and interesting

We love Joel's distinctive looping style and having encountered his music while living in York we were delighted that he would travel to our Wedding in Dorset where we now live. Joel played for our Wedding ceremony and drinks reception. His music felt just right, providing an ambiance music that is interesting and moving while not feeling corny. At our request Joel also composed an arrangement to accompany the singing of one of our ceremony songs and liased with a friend who was organising the music in general. Joel was straight forward to communicate and organise with even when Covid meant we had to repeatedly change dates. Thank you Joel!

A Master At Work

Words genuinely can't describe what Joel's presence does at a Wedding. Every part of our day he featured in was elevated by his music.
We loved him, our guests loved him and even the registrar gave him a shout out. As the groom I'm just gutted I wasn't a guest so that I could sit there and watch his whole set. Joel played before, during and after our ceremony and even learned a request for my wife and I to walk back up the aisle to. He's also a gentleman. As he was leaving once everybody had sat down to eat, he got additional applause from the room as he passed by the windows. Hire this man, he is the ultimate Wedding enhancement. Thank you, Joel. A truly exceptional talent

We first saw Joel 7 years ago busking in Bath and we were both completely blown away. I could have stood and listened to him for hours.
Ever since that point I had always wanted him to play at our Wedding. Joel is truly exceptional and everyone commented on how amazing and talented he is. If you want a violinist with a twist he’s the man and I can’t thank him enough for attending and playing at our Wedding.

Great addition

We hired Joel to play during arrival drinks and during our canapés. It was great to have such high quality and entertaining music being played. The mix of traditional and modern is remarkable. Our friends loved some of the classics on his set list and some of the older guests marvelled at the equipment. All in all it was a hit. I just wish I had had more time to watch and listen! G

Wonderful!

Joel's music was so beautiful and really helped to make our celebration memorable. We are still getting messages and comments from friends and family to say how impressed they were with his music and commenting on how perfectly he blended in. We could not have wished for anything more!

Performed at our Wedding

Joel performed at our Wedding and I can only describe his performance as incredible, he had all our guests captured with his performance, from the church through to the reception. If I had the time, I would have pulled up a seat and watched his entire set. Our guests were in awe with his skill as a looping violinist. His professionalism made it a pleasure to work with him and I would highly recommend Joel for Weddings and other events. 12/10

Created a wonderful atmosphere

I didn't get to see much of Joel sadly due to bride duties! However the guests enjoyed the sets and loved some of the tracks that made moments more memorable.

Perfect for a Wedding or special event

Joel played during our Wedding ceremony and drinks reception last week and the music was beautiful. Brilliant and unique

Joel was brilliant. Many guests commented on how amazing he was, providing the perfect entertainment for a garden reception. I have never been to a Wedding with a looping violinist, making it feel even more special to us.

The Perfect Wedding Musician

We had originally booked Joel for our Wedding in May 2020 but unfortunately due to Covid-19 we had to delay our day twice. Although the process was complex trying to find new dates with all suppliers available, it was non-negotiable that we had to find a date with Joel still available. We are so pleased this was the case because our day would not have been the same without him; all ages appreciated his amazing talent and we had so many compliments. But WOW the best thing is having 'Fly' as our entrance song - we get goosebumps and tears every time we hear it. We couldn't fault a thing throughout the day, although the schedule went behind Joel was so flexible to work around it. 5* Service!

A highlight of our Wedding day

Joel played at our Wedding reception in September 2021. His music set the perfect atmosphere for our reception drinks and acted as a great conversation starter. He also played another short set for guests to enjoy whilst they tucked into their food outside. Throughout the day, many of our guests remarked on how talented Joel is and best of all, you could tell how much Joel enjoys what he does, which made it even more of a pleasure to watch him.

Fantastic violinist

I came across Joel playing Ed Sheeran’s - Shape of You to a crowd on the street in Bath back in 2017 and was over the moon when his name popped up when looking for a drinks reception musician. Unfortunately, our Wedding was to be held in Belfast so I spent a lot of time trying to find someone who could do the same….. and it was quite clear no one had the same skill set or sound to even come close. Thankfully, Joel was willing to travel and despite my own worries about travel during COVID, he successfully made it across. I can’t thank him enough for coming - the music was absolutely amazing and he even learned a song specially for the day (Can’t help falling in love) at our request to be played as we walked down the aisle. He has songs on iTunes/Spotify for anyone needing to hear some of his work. 100% recommend!

Someone thought we were filming a movie

Joel was incredible. I'd been listening to him on Spotify for a while before getting in contact. He was so nice from the first contact. His music was even more amazing on the Wedding day. We got married in a national trust venue. There were so many people listening to Joel they didn't realise it was a real Wedding. A few people asked my family after if we were filming a movie. Our guests, young and old, have not stopped talking about how magical the music was. They all got emotional. And Joel was also humble enough to share the limelight with my family who sang a few songs too. He's an incredible talent and a true professional. We can't thank him enough.

Wonderful, quirky and different!

Joel played for us at our Wedding in May. It was an outdoor ceremony and reception in a garden which was not a problem at all for him. Walking down the aisle to his beautiful version of Sweet Child of Mine was so special and poignant. He helped to create the most wonderful atmosphere and so many friends and family have since said how much they enjoyed his music.
We love how he is an alternative take on the classic strings at a Wedding! Playing anything from Pachebells Canon to Coldplay to Game of Thrones! Captivating to watch how he layers his songs with his loop station. We loved the beat boxing in particular! Joel is a very talented musician and we feel very lucky to have had him play for us. I’m not sure if he’d like this comparison but we have nicknamed him ‘The Ed Sheeran of the violin!’

Incredible musician for our Wedding

We were very fortunate to have Joel play at our Wedding two days ago! The Wedding was a big surprise as people thought that they had just come for our daughters christening. Joel played his version of Pachelbel’s Canon as my wife walked down the aisle and the whole church was in tears. Additionally, Joel played a variety of songs at the reception and had many people talking about how amazing the musician we had was. I highly recommend Joel to play at your Wedding!!!

Such a unique style

My wife and I booked Joel for our Wedding ceremony and reception this weekend after hearing his incredible contemporary covers while he was playing in Bath last year. An incredibly talented musician who was very easy to deal with and who gave us a personalised, heartfelt gig which all our guests, (both young and older) commented on really positively (we may have created some new fans!). Joel plays violin covers (and original work) of really well-know songs suited to his unique looping and layering style. I recommend you check his work out on iTunes - highly recommended for all sorts of occasions.

Joel really is such an innovator and has a fresh sound. I came across Joel when he was playing in Winchester and then Cambridge. I booked him for a corporate Government social event in London and then for my Wedding two weeks ago. Joel is such a talent and he really moves people with his music. I can't wait to book him again!
